Vampiric Sword not working.... - Guild Wars Forums

Hey everyone, i have a strange question that may be easy to answer! I am raptor farming with the normal warrior necro build with a vampiric sword. I go to unleash raptor genocide on those poor pathetic little creatures and the life stealing/healing does not work. Is this a bug or is this something that is known?

It probably does work, but with the billion 22's from 100b and the 43's from mop you cant see them.

Does it work/not work in other areas? i.e. you vs 1 opponent

Do you still have -1 health regen?

err is sword customized to another character maybe...?

Iirc, you dont get any health because 100b and mop are not actual hits on the target. They are damage packets from a spell

Raptors use Critical Defenses. You don't actually hit the raptors.

But would the whirlwind not account for anything? I can see MOP not working, because it is a spell. I went out into an area and my sword is working. It does not work for 100B, but as soon as I whirlwind it gives me +3 health for every foe that I hit.

Going on this assumption, there are 34 raptors, I should theoretically get 102 health back, minus 75% or so for critical defenses. I get no health, and by these numbers it should be between 25 and 30.

Sounds like the numbers arn't displaying or your just plain not hitting with vamp.

Pretty confident you should atleast be seeing "-x dmg -3dmg" and +3hp when you actually hit through crit defense.

Try without 100b and without MOP and see if vamp hits OR

You could try a Zealous mod :P easy to tell if that hits.

And because of Crit Defense, and HB/MoP, those small +3's are really hard to see.

This. Hundred blades does not require the attack to land and MoP triggers off the hundred blades, not the actual attack landing.

I think another example of the way 100b works is with the monk smite skill strength of honor.
When used on a war with 100b - the 100b dmg packets dont gain anything from SoH as its "deal x more dmg in melee" - even tho you are weilding a sword and 100b is a sword skill its not classed as melee attack as such.If you just hit foes with sword then the extra dmg does apply.If foe had say mop added then your attack would be (normal melee dmg) + SoH + mop ( well you are hitting a foe with sword ).
Sometimes some skills have misleading descriptions or descriptions that dont explain fully.

As I recall 100 blades requires the attack to complete before it triggers, but deals the damage before the attack does.

In other words, the mobs are already dead before you hit them with the attack because 100 blades has triggered 30+ times and those triggers have in turn triggered all the mark of pain instances.
